Very private and exclusive fishing lodge is one of the legendary fly-fishing destinations in Mpumalanga. Situated in close proximity to many of Mpumalangas’ tourist destinations such as Pilgrims Rest, Bourke’s Luck Pot Holes, Gods Window, The Blyde Gorge and the Three Rondawels. It is within easy driving distance of the Kruger National Park.
The commercial Lodge is being converted to private Lodges enabling its owners to enjoy
exclusive usage of the property and its facilities and to govern the use of the amenities.
It enables the fortunate few to secure a piece of this paradise as an investment for
generations to come.

There are five chalets:
Two -three bedrooms each en-suite, an open planned lounge/kitchen area with
suspended fireplace, two decks, one of which is enclosed for protection against the cold
snaps. The main bedroom also has its own sundeck. The verandas all have a superb view over a dam.
Chalet converted into three bedroomed, en-suite chalet, the open planned lounge/kitchen, with fireplace will open onto a glassed in veranda with built in braai. Expansive lawns and overlooking a dam. Two bedroom each en-suite, an open plan lounge/kitchen with fireplace and a deck with a dramatic view over a dam. Planned alterations include a glassed-in deck with a built in braai facility.

One bedroomed chalet with bathroom, an open planned
lounge/ kitchen and a lovely veranda on the banks of a
dam. This chalet will be converted into a two-bedroomed
unit with en-suite bathrooms.

The chalets are “log home’ type constructions, capturing
the ambience of the Lodge.
Each Lodge has a fireplace, its own outdoor cooking facilities including a Trout Smoker. The Lodges are tastefully furnished, have well equipped kitchens and are fully serviced.

The quality and beauty of the waters cannot be described, suffice that “a river runs through it”.

The volume, quality and clarity of the river are exceptional.
There are five large dams as well as six weirs across the River not to mention the numerous
natural pools and rapids. The property has approximately 3,5 km of absolutely crystal clear
river with tracts of pristine river frontage.

The Lodge is not only limited to the fly-fisherman but offers the whole family outdoor fun
Including swimming in natural rock pools, bird watching with close on 200 bird species having
been identified so far, game viewing, hiking & cycling. Golf and Horse riding are available at
Pilgrims Rest.

The lodge caters for the whole family.

All management facilities are in place and include management quarters (office and manager’s
accommodation), a staff village to accommodate up to 24 personnel, a workshop area including
tractor and farm implements, necessary to maintain a consistently high standard and include a large trout hatchery to ensure excellent quality fishing.
